How often are classes?

Classes are Monday through Friday.

Is this just an group of moms that get together to walk?

I love this question - the answer is NO! These classes are no walk in the park. In just one hour you will get a complete head to toe workout that will have you feeling energized and looking fit. Classes are designed for ALL different fitness levels and are taught by certified instructors who are also moms. During our stations we use resistance bands, open fields for drills or obstacles, benches or steps, and anything in the environment to give you a great workout. Don't be surprised if you find yourself using words like "burpee" or "plank" in every day conversation before long!

My baby’s only 2, 3, 4, 5 weeks old. Can I come?

You must be at least 6 weeks postpartum to start, but if you’re itching to get out of the house, come to an Our Village playdate. They’re mostly for moms anyway. Sit and sip your coffee and get out of the house.

What if my baby gets fussy during class?

Our first priority during Stroller Strides classes is the happiness of your baby. Tend to your baby first. We stop every few minutes for a new station, so you can always catch up with us if you get behind! Our instructors will do their very best to make the class enjoyable for both you and your baby.

---If you purchased an individual or class pass package and your baby is just not "in the mood" we will issue a fussy baby pass - just check in with the instructor before leaving!

Do I need a jogging stroller?

No! While we are BOB jogger fanatics, just about any stroller will do so long as it's not prone to tipping. We do not recommend umbrella strollers since they are not very maneuverable. Our mommies have mastered classes with snap-n-gos and other travel systems!

Where do you work out? (aka, what do you do during the winter?)

We are entirely community based. We have wonderful locations both outside at parks and inside at malls. We’ll meet at an indoor location unless it’s 40 and sunny or 45 degrees. If it’s above that, we’ll be at our outdoor locations, but always check the Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/strollerstridestwincities

What if the weather is bad?

We will only cancel classes in extreme weather conditions. Please check your email and our Facebook page for weather related schedule changes. There is always a nearby indoor location in the event of a rainy day!

When can I start taking classes?

Always obtain your physician's approval before beginning any exercise routine. We recommend waiting until your baby is at least 6 weeks of age and you have clearance from your physician to begin Stroller Strides classes. Children are welcome up to any age as long as they still enjoy a ride in the stroller.

How long are the classes?

The workouts are one hour unless otherwise noted. The class is usually set up with a 5 minute warm up followed by a 45 minute full body workout with the stroller that includes power walking or running, cardio blasts and body toning stations. The last ten minutes is for abs and stretching.

What do I need to bring to class?

Other than you, your baby and your stroller....

We recommend athletic shoes, a towel or mat for our ground exercises and plenty of water.

For outdoor classes, please bring a hat and/or sunblock.

Don't forget to pack baby some snacks and/or small toys for the ride, too!

How do I enroll?

Click on the calendar icon on the home page and follow the cues to enroll. Once you have filled out all your information, you will be registered for the day you select!

What if I'm enrolled and can't make it?

We're all moms. We know about babies having bad nights and blow outs right when you're trying to leave the house.

Class attendance is recorded by the instructor at each class, and even if you enrolled, unless you are present you will not be counted. This means that if you are a class pass holder, you will not be charged for that class.

Can I join Stroller Strides if I am pregnant?

YES, YES, YES! WE encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise through their pregnancy as long as everything has been approved by their physician. Instructors are trained in both pre and post natal fitness and follow the ACOG guidelines. We can modify any exercise that poses an issue as you progress through your pregnancy.

Which pass is right for ME?

It depends on how often you come.

The 10 block pass costs around $12/class and the Monthly Membership is $59/month. So once you attend more than 6 classes a month, the membership is more economical at under $10/class. If you attend 3x/week, the price per class is under $5!

Passes and memberships are good at any of our locations within the Twin Cities franchise. If you are still unsure which pass is best for you, consult with any of our instructors and they can help you decide. You can buy the passes online or from any of our instructors at class.

Body Back FAQs

Do I need to be in great shape to participate in class?

No. We have all fitness levels in our classes, but we will warn you; these classes are hard! Our goal is to deliver a workout that will challenge any fitness level. You might not be able to do every single thing your first class, but you will be able to by the end of your 8-week session!

What are the classes like?

Body Back has 3 formats, Rounds, Traveling and Circuit. Each is a high intensity interval training (HIIT) class with a combination of cardio, strength and core. The HIIT method is proven to yield the best results and highest after burn of calories.

What do I need to bring to class?

A yoga mat or towel to do abs and cool down, plenty of water, and a towel for your sweat. You WILL sweat!

Can I do Body Back if I am pregnant?

No. This workout is not intended for prenatal exercise and we do not recommend following the meal plans during pregnancy. If you become pregnant during the course of your Body Back session, please notify your instructor. We offer Stroller Strides and Fit4Baby as appropriate prenatal exercise programs.

Can I bring kids to Body Back?

No. This class is for women 18 and older without children present.

Our midmorning session has childcare for $5.

Do I need to Pre-Register or can I just show up?

For Body Back Sessions, you must pre-register to ensure your spot in the class. Body Back sessions sell out quickly, so you want to hold your spot by registering early.

What is Body Back?

Body Back is a life-changing program for moms of any age or stage of motherhood! Whether you had a baby 3 months ago or 20 years ago, this program is for you. Body Back was shown to get results by a university study, and was designed by nutritionists and fitness professionals to maximize results.

Body Back is an all-inclusive program that combines twice-weekly small group classes of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) with at-home DVD exercises, meal plans and a food diary, online coaching and "before and afer" fitness assessments/measurements. As a Body Back client, you can expect personalized one on one attention, class sizes are limited to a maximum of 12 participants per session. The workouts have been clinically proven in a universirty reserach study to help moms lose the weight and return to their pre-baby body composition and confidence. Moms all over the country are achieving results that they never dreamed possible - mind, body and soul!

Body Back clients experience targeted high-intensity workouts, inspiration and motivation in every class. Our HIIT workouts (a technique used by performance athletes that feature repeated bouts of short duration/high intensity exercises) are a critical component to the program - burning more calories, increasing encurance and shedding more fat in less time! The result is weight loss, muscle toning and increased strength and energy. To maximize results, the class does not involve a stroller or children - perfect for Stroller Strides graduates whose kids are now in school, or for any mom who needs some personal time to fully focus on her goals!
